I was sort of skimming through some articles and reading on the web about Renaissance (although I am surely not into arts or anything). And when it’s about Renaissance, eventually it comes down to Leonardo Da Vinci.
Even if you are not very interested in him (like me), you probably know he is said to have constructed a helicopter. Not even that, he has also created tank. How cool is that: creating these two things back at the XV-th century while the real things just come out 5 hundred years later?
I also really liked the vegetarism idea. Not only, according to Wikipedia, Da Dinci was a vegetarian, but “Vasari reports a story that as a young man in Florence he often bought caged birds just to release them from captivity.” Also his unusual polyphasic sleeping pattern is mentioned (what is an awesome subject, I think I should write more about it sometime later).
Finally, some italian scientist recently claimed to have recently found out who Mona Lisa was. Not that it would seem too compelling yet, but it’s still worth mentioning. ;)
Okay, with that written, I can get back to studying now… ;)
