I have tried selling things then I regressed then I have been trying again and … STOP, this ain’t exactly gonna be about me.
The major problem I see with selling stuff and stuff being sold in the internet and in a lot of places (but mostly internet as for internet marketing) is that it’s all marketing.
The actual products are crap!
This is the damn wrong mindset but…
This whole industry focuses on marketing. It’s as if the people buying it are doing a favor to you or at least there is this sub-idea when you are trying to sell. This is wrong.
(Example: I needed a few TTC courses (if you have a mp3 player and do not listen to TTC, you should!). So, I was getting them. However, getting them I was actually undoubtfully content about getting it. They wouldn’t need to sell it for me because I see value in it and you know what, there is value.)Most of the products being sold don’t have value. What people do is they make a crappy product and focus all the resources they’ve got on marketing it as oppose to spending your resources on making a good product and then letting the market do its job.
And I think you all have known this at least subconsciously all along and perhaps even consciously but wording it (be it just one more time) still helps, doesn’t it.
So, that’s there it gets to me. I don’t wanna sell crap, I want to sell good stuff. Things that I do actually believe in.
Now, the theory is worth crap unless I apply it. That’s the second major problem. :)
Mostly people don’t buy because they want a product, people buy because they want a feeling they get WHEN they buy that product.
Now, I’m not saying that creating a crappy product is good for your Karma, but there’s no way that the world will beat a path to your house just because you’ve built a better mousetrap.
That too is a “wrong mindset”, my friend.
People won’t buy if you’ve created a bad marketing around your product - that’s the ONLY way to make them buy your product.
But if your marketing is good and your product is bad - the refund rate will make you realize that you better be creating another and better product FAST. Believe me… I’ve been there.
So if you care to sell you product - concentrate only on your marketing…
If you want to keep the money you earned selling that product - be sure to create a good product.
Simple as that…
