Somehow for the last few days I have been feeling like going to Paris. I kind of have a trip quasi-planned later this year but that’s late. Anyway.

I have quite a few things planned for the summer. Apart from other things which I am not going to discuss here, I have two other goals.

1. Make your way with CPC and then make the move to being a vendor.
2. Catch up with quite some classical literature.

Now, #1 has been discussed already. I am doing so-so, I can see progress and opportunity and I’ll be taking it. Now, this could be just another over-statement. Yet, focus is the key here and now I have it. That. Taking action is the second key. I have some of it too. Fate seems to be showing me that I’m heading in the right direction (nah, I don’t really believe in fate) and I’ll handle this one. Alright.

Books are more interesting. I am likely to still have some free time during the beginning of the summer and I want to read some literature. I have not read that much. Okay, I could put a tick on The Count of Monte Cristo but there is just a lot of literature like that which rocks and that should be read by an average educated person a superior guy which I am (sorry for the partially unpremeditated expression of my superiority-complex). I don’t know, I should make a list. Or at least I should make a list with a few books in advance. Currently I am going to jump on Der schwarze Obelisk by Remarque. I know, it’s not really so much classical but I have gotten a few at least one recommendations. Then I’m thinking of something of Dostojevskij. Or perhaps Tolstoy. In any case, that is just gonna be a warm-up. But let me get the other books I read now dealt with, first.

P.S. Now I have even found a round-trip flight to Paris for €220. That’s still quite much. Oh, I guess some things have to wait. A bit. Then I’ll be able to reward myself with stuff, etc. (I hate to be so ambiguous and post-pone things but I am afraid that’s how it is supposed to be now).

Recently I finished reading the famous book of Paulo Coelho, called the Alchemist. It was so popular and appeared on so many places I just wanted to try it.

I didn’t quite love it. I mean, it was okay, but I expected something special from a bestseller like this. Well, it was somewhat too long (although it isn’t long at all compared to some other books) and too religious for me, although there are some good points made there. Rephrasing the main idea, “everybody should go for their dream”. Certainly, there is a hell lot of truth in it. I’m not sure if I needed a whole book to think about that. But yeah, many people need the nudge and the book should do it. There are also a lot of other ideas covered on the book, but I won’t just go into details now…

And on a different note, I noticed I read too little. Yeah, I’ve been reading several books in the last month or so but that’s all there is to it. I guess I should go on a spree sometime and catch up with all the most popular (therefore maybe the best)/classical literature I haven’t read. Yeah, there is so much of it but one has to do it sometime… ;)

I don’t know if there are many people who still haven’t read this book. But I haven’t. In fact, I have only read up to the page 60 (which is about the third chapter).

And anyway, I find this book totally interesting. It’s not something what I could have expected. I wouldn’t probably have begun reading a book on Economics at all (I have more boring things to do, thanks!) if it wasn’t recommended so many times by people I know on the forums. It talks about real life situations and how they could be applied in life rather than focussing on some dull economical theories. I’m beginning to understand what “everything” actually means in the “the hidden side of everything” slogan.

I think I’d still be posting more about the book as I read it (if there is any interest). But so far I’d totally recommend it even for those non-economists out there…
